The Halloween Hustle Fun Run at Kensington Station. The out and back course on Confederation trail.

I wore a doctor this year.

Aron Croken won the 5km race and Jennifer Pizio-Perry for the top female.

I finished in 18:38 and came in 2nd out of 106 runners.

The Three Little Pigs won the best costume.

The Gold Cup Trot at Victoria Park. The loop course on Victoria Park, Brighton Rd, University Ave and Old Charlottetown along the parade route.

Daniel Lewis won the race and Grace Annear for the top female.

I finished in 18:03 and came in 7th out of 155 runners.

Kensington Harvest Festival 25K
Saturday, August 20th

It was Cloudy and 20 degrees.

The Kensington Harvest Fest 25km at Free Church of Scotland. The course on Stanchel, Rose Valley, Shamrock, Kinkora, Freetown, Mill Valley and Kensington.

Mike MacKinnon won the race and Elita Rahn for the top female.

I finished in 1:48:33, beat my 25km PB, 9:14 faster than last year and came in 8th out of 79 runners. I won a great pair of shoes!

What is a L2R Program?
With Spring in the air, it is time to get outside and start running! Are you a beginner runner? Are you a former runner, but want to re-learn? Join a go!PEI L2R program this spring!

L2R is a 10-week walk-to-run program where participants will build up to running a 5K distance. The L2R group is led by a running enthusiast and the group meets once per week. All participants receive a running program to follow on their own, along with tips on footwear, stretching, nutrition and equipment!

Over 400 Islanders have learned to run with the go!PEI Learn 2 Run (L2R) program since June 2010. The greatest thing about running is that you do it for YOU. Many people who have never run before fall in love with this activity and get “addicted” to it, because it's an activity that can be done at their own pace.

There are many opportunities to learn more about running with go!PEI. People of all sizes, ages and physical abilities have learned by running a little bit to begin with and eventually working up to run 1 km, 5 km’s or more. Some of these people were very athletic growing up and use running to keep up their fitness while others have never run a step in their life but through commitment, hard work and support are able to realize their dreams.

The PEI Roadrunners have partnered with go!PEI by offering beginner L2R clinics, and by being an incredible resource to those interested in running. The PEI Roadrunner's website has a complete list of races happening in 2011, tips on footwear, breathing, stretching, and a message board where people can post questions.

I wore "Rain Man" costume this year.

I finished in 19:53 and came in 3rd out of 120 runners.

Owen Turner, 10, looked every bit like New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning at the Halloween Hustle 5K in Kensington. He was narrowly edging out Kristie Moase with his run into the end zone.

The Halloween Hustle 5-kilometre run left from Kensington on Saturday with a number of costumed runners taking part. The annual Hustle is a fundraiser for the IWK and Kensington Fit Place.

Aaron Croken was the top finisher in the annual fundraising race with a time of 18:42.

West Prince native Jennifer Pizio-Perry was the first female runner across the finish line with a time of 20:48.

2nd Annual Halloween Hustle

The Tortoise and the Hare...



...finished 1, 2

It was cloudy and 4 degrees.

The Halloween Hustle at Kensington Train Station.

The out and back course at Confederation Trail.

Tyler Sellar wore a tortoise costume and Keaghan Rilling wore a hare costume inspired from "The Tortoise and The Hare". Just like in the story the Hare take a rest and was beaten by Tortoise.

I finished in 19:55 and came in 4th out of 79 runners.

It was the first post marathon race.

I wore a ninja suit this year. Johnny Miles was there, KISS members won the best costume. There were lots of costumes.

The 1st Annual Halloween Hustle 5K

It was sunny and 5 degrees.

The Halloween Hustle Run at Kensington Station.

The 5K out and back course on trail.

I wore costume like vampire cape and RunMan shirt.

The first run since PEI Marathon and I came in 4th out of 79 runners in 19:53.

Tyler Sellar won the race and Sandy Carson-MacGuire for the top female and Dakota Cameron for the under 16.


Lots of costumes and Hulk won the costume contest.
