Dunk River Run - a PB, 3rd Place, a Trophy & a Medal!



It was sun and clouds and 16 degrees.

The Dunk River Run at Central Bedeque Arena. The loop course on Rayner Rd, Ross Corner, Freetown Rd, Mill Rd, and Dunk River Rd.

Scott Clark won the race and Jennifer Pizio-Perry for the top female.

I finished in 46:01, beat my race time 5:11 faster than 2009 Dunk River Run and came in 3rd out of 68 runners. I won the 3rd Place Overall trophy and Male 20-29 1st place medal.

CENTRAL BEDEQUE – Scott Clark of Summerside was the top overall runner in the 34th annual Dunk River Road Race, sponsored by Callbeck’s Home Hardware.

Clark, 47, had a time of 41:55 in what he termed perfect running conditions Sunday morning. Leo McCosham (43:19) and Alex Bain (46:01) rounded out the top-three finishers.

Jennifer Pizio-Perry of Greenmount won her fourth women’s title in a row, setting a course personal best time of 50:12. She was 10th overall. Allie Keedwell (52:06), 15th overall, and Brenda Benson (53:27), 18th overall, followed Pizio-Perry in the women’s division.

Overall, 68 runners participated in the 11.667-kilometre run.
