A Small Change in Plans - Fredericton Marathon moved due to flooding

A Small Change in Plans

The 30th Annual Fredericton Marathon, scheduled for next Sunday, May 11th, will take place as planned.

Due to the flooding in Downtown Fredericton the start and finish venue is being changed from Officers Square to Queen Square Park (Aberdeen & St. John Streets). Additionally, the Marathon route will no longer be along the downtown river front, but will be returning to the 2005 & 2006 Course for this year. We are expecting over 1000 runners and spectators to be participating in this year's event and do not wish to add further disruption to the downtown and river front area as the City begins to clean-up.

The Capital City Road Runners wish to extend our best wishes to our members, friends and neighbours affected by the flooding.

Participants, please check this space (http://www.frederictonmarathon.ca/) often in the coming days as we provide you additional information.
