PEI In Motion Running Clinics Training Schedule 2008

I signed up for Stan's PEI In Motion marathon/half marathon training clinic starting on January 17, every Thursday at 5:30 for 16 weeks.

Last year I participated in his intermediate group and then the marathon and half marathon group.

I have fun and got to know some runners better. We have a few parties. I got in very good shape and ran very good times and set a lot of PBs. I can hardly wait to get training a try out my new shoes.

Running Clinics Training Schedule 2008

  • The cost is $75 + tax and this includes structured training sessions, training plan, and a dry tech t-shirt which you will receive on the first night of training! (Anyone who didn't receive a t-shirt from prior groups will get 2!).
  • Registration for the groups will take place at Sporting Intentions (617 North River Road) on Monday January 14th from 7:00 - 9:00pm.
  • For registration Stan will accept cash and cheque (Payable to PEI In Motion - $79.50 taxes included).
  • There will be a maximum of 20 people per group so if you, or someone you know is interested in getting involved, let Stan know by email (stan@getinmotion.ca) and he'll put your name on the list. (Please note: The Charlottetown Half/Full Marathon group has reached its 20 person limit)
  • Each group will be training for a Spring running/walking event.
Here are the dates and times:

Charlottetown
  • Half/Full Marathon (16 week program)- Every Thursday starting January 17th at 5:30pm. We'll also meet every Sunday morning at 9:00am for a long training run (Meeting at UPEI and Sporting Intentions throughout the program) - Trainer: Stanley Chaisson This program is now full
  • 5KM/10KM Performance (10 week program) - Every Tuesday starting January 22nd at 5:30pm. We'll also meet every Sunday morning at 9:00am for a long training run (Meeting at UPEI and Sporting Intentions throughout the program - Trainer: Shane Gill
  • Learn to Run - Every Wednesday starting January 16th at 5:30pm meeting at UPEI Sports Centre track.
Also, remember the Sunday morning long run/walk leaving from Sporting Intentions at 9:00am starting January 27th. This is for everyone. You can show up, find a partner or group to run with and it can be whatever distance you feel comfortable running/walking.

Summerside
  • Tuesday January 22nd is the tentative start date.
  • Learn to Run and Intermediate start at 5:15 and Half/Full Marathon at 6:30.
  • Both 10 week programs.

Stanley is also starting High Performance Youth Training for ages 14-19. This program is for young athletes serious about their sport and committed to being their best. The program will focus on core strength development, balance, power, endurance, coordination and agility. Participants receive 3 one hour sessions/week - Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 3:30. The program starts Monday Jan 14th.
