Terry Fox Run needs organizers

Terry Fox Run needs organizers
The Journal Pioneer

Editor,
In 1980, Terry Fox started his journey across Canada in St. John’s, N.L. Though Terry didn’t make it to Vancouver Island like he had planned, he did leave his mark on Canadian history.

Today Terry’s dream of curing cancer lives on. Throughout the country, thousands of communities host events across Canada, including the Terry Fox Run, the National School Day Run, and Terry Fox Works; a new initiative for work places.

But we still aren’t there. We need the help of enthusiastic volunteers from your community to make the Terry Fox events successful.

It could be as simple as hanging a few posters. You could even organize the Run in your community! Tyne Valley and Ellerslie still need run organizers. What a great way to rally the community for an excellent cause.
The Terry Fox Foundation donates 87 cents from every dollar to the National Cancer Institute of Canada, and has raised more than $400 million over the years. Help us reach Terry’s dream. To find out how you can get involved, call toll free 1-888-836-9786 or visit us online at terryfoxrun.org
