It was cloudy, foggy and -1 degrees.

The St. Patricks Day Run at Sports PEI. The loop course on North River Rd, Churchhill Ave, Spring Park Rd, Kirkwood Drive and University Ave.

Billy MacDonald won the 10km race and Kara Grant for the top female. I finished in 45:29 and came in 6th out of 41 runners.

Brandon Higginbotham won the 5km race and Melanie McKenna for the top female.

St. Patrick's Day 5K Run

It was sun and 2 degrees.

The St. Patrick's Day 5km Run at Sport PEI on Enman Cres. The loop course by Charlottetown Rural, North River Rd, Skyview, Seaview, Belvedere Ave and University Ave.

Kris Taylor won the race and Natalie Dallaire for the top female.

I finished in 21:41 and came in 8th out of 40 runners.

Achilles tendinitis - Missing the St. Patrick's Day Run

Alex is nursing Achilles tendinitis in his right Achilles and so will miss the St. Patrick's Day Run for Easter Seals on Saturday.

This is only the 5th run he'll have missed since he started running in the PEI RoadRunner races in May 2004.

No... he's not happy about it...

As well, I'm leaving town today for 2 weeks so we won't even be in attendance as fans or volunteers.

If all goes well, he'll be back in running shape when I get home in time for the new Charlottetown Bluephin 5K on March 28th at UPEI and ready to take on the WR3 Half-Marathon April 4th. (If he's not in half-marathon shape the WR3 offers a 10K and 5K as well). Online registration is now open for the WR3 races.

So get your green on people and head out to UPEI on Saturday....

3rd Annual St. Patty's Day 5K Fun Run for Easter Seals

It was cloudy and -10 degrees.

The course was different the last year. It was same as UPEI Homecoming Run. It out and back course at UPEI and trail.

I wore a new blue Speedstar shoes my mom won at the banquet.

The whole race with Sean MacNeill and finished in tie with Sean in 21:18 came in 15th out of 50 runners.

Leo McCosham for top male and Jenna Gallant for top female.

Good music afterwards! I won the 6 months membership to UPEI Chi Wan Young Sports Centre and give to my mother.
