As the 2005 Ewen Stewart Inspirational Runner of the Year, Alex presented this year's winner, Mike "Rocketman" Meacher, with the award at the ceremony this year. Along with photos of Mike, the text of Alex's speech was displayed on a screen behind him to accommodate those who had difficulties understanding his speech (that's why people are looking behing him). This worked well last year too when he, as the 2004 Rookie of the Year, presented the 2005 Rookie of the Year award. The text of his speech is here.
