My maiden name was Howatt but having said that...if we travel back far enough, I have no doubt that there could be a connection. Gosh knows we both seem tenacious!

All the best!

CatCatherine Annhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03244244207725852648noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2213276605217463150.post-18585826732350626502009-11-28T23:45:33.166-04:002009-11-28T23:45:33.166-04:00Catherine, congratulations on successfully running...Catherine, congratulations on successfully running your first marathon!
I ran my first marathon in 2002. I was 72 years old at that time. I also "hit the wall" at about mile 23. One of my coaches saw me slowing down to a crawl. He jogged up along side of me and whispered in my ear "keep going, Dickson. You've got to keep going to the end. Remember" he said, " they can never take that medal away from you, once you earn it!"
Well, I did keep going, at a very slow pace, and finished the race to win my medal, which I still treasure to this day.
By the way, my Dad was born and raised in Kingston, Ontario. Is it possible that you and I are distant relatives?
All best to you!
Wallace Gordon Dickson
Washington, DClegsdicksonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06917277830052069653noreply@blogger.com
